Meet the Physician Advisory Committee

The primary goal of the Advisory Committee is to aid us in reviewing research proposals and to make recommendations regarding grant awards. As a new foundation, we strive to make efficient use of our funding while also being open to innovative ideas for screening, treating, and ultimately curing mucinous ovarian cancer.

We are fortunate to have leading experts in rare gynecological diseases on our team. Because three of the four members of our committee are practicing physicians, we also utilize their expertise when women with MOC contact us for help.

Katherine Kurnit, MD, MPH

Another founding advisor to the Coalition, is Dr. Kurnit. She practices at The University of Chicago Medicine and serves as an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Kurnit specializes in diagnosing and treating a wide range of gynecologic malignancies. She has a special interest in rare ovarian cancers, including mucinous ovarian cancer. Dr. Kurnit’s empathic commitment to women facing cancerous conditions makes her an ideal fit for our Advisory Committee.

Jennifer Mueller, MD, FACOG

Dr. Mueller is a valued member of the Physician Advisory Committee. She is a surgeon at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, and a passionate advocate for women with gynecologic cancers including mucinous ovarian cancer.
