Every year, 22,000 women in the United States receive the frightening diagnosis of ovarian cancer. Of those, 3% to 5% will have a rare form called mucinous adenocarcinoma of the ovary, most often referred to as mucinous ovarian cancer. Because it is so unique, comparatively few resources have been devoted to developing effective treatments or finding a cure.
The all-volunteer team at the Mucinous Ovarian Cancer Coalition (MOCC) is committed to changing that. Since our launch in September 2020, we’ve raised funds for research and created an online information hub, with the goal of improving the survival rate and quality of life for women with this disease. At MOCC, we aim to replace fear and uncertainty with information and hope—just as our late cofounder, Rhonda, envisioned.
